We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as the leader providing oversight and direction to the Direct Support Professionals (RPWs) within our Group Homes.

Job Duties:
Responsible for oversight of the medical needs of the individuals served within the MCAR Inc. Residential Program. Responsible for training Residential Program Workers on various medical responsibilities to ensure proper and correct individual medical care. Clarification of doctors orders to the Residential Program Workers and Residential Program Specialists within the group home. Reporting any changes issues or concerns within the group home or the individual to the Nursing Director and the Residential Program Specialists. Ensure weekly and monthly goals are met through working in conjunction with the entire nursing staff. Overall knowledge of theand 6100 Pennsylvania Regulations. The incumbent is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in assuring the medical needs of the individuals. Work is reviewed by the Nursing Director through direct observation consultations both verbally and written and written evaluations on a yearly basis.
- Assist with the training of new employees and refresher trainings of current employees in the areas of:
- CPR/AED/First Aid
- Medication Administration
- Group Home Trainings on Medical Care Needs
- Hoyer Lift Trainings if applicable
- Stander Lift Trainings if applicable
- Attends required meetings trainings and seminars as deemed appropriate by the Nursing Director
- Responsible for monthly head-to-toe medical assessments of the assigned individuals living within the assigned group homes
- Monitoring MAR compliance weekly within the assigned group homes
- Monitoring of medication counts weekly within the assigned group homes
- Administer insulin injections on a rotating scheduled as assigned
- Complete urinary catheter care on a rotating schedule as assigned
- Assists in the assigned group homes on an as needed basis
- Maintain accurate medical documentation logs medication counts and other necessary documentation to perform the job expectations
- Displays an ability to perform rotating shifts as assigned and approved by the Nursing Director
- Capable of displaying flexibility within the scope of the medical needs of the individuals supported within the group homes
- Adheres to the rotating On-Call schedule as assigned and/or approved by the Nursing Director
- Ongoing knowledge and adherence of theand 6500 Pennsylvania Regulations and MCAR Policies and Procedures
- Attends any medical appointments as deemed necessary by the Nursing Director
- Maintains consistent communication via verbal or written with the Residential Program Specialists Residential Program Workers and the Nursing Director to ensure overall health safety and welfare of the individual supported within the group homes
- Supervision of RPWs to assure compliance of medication administration and medical care of individuals.
- Provide policy recommendations regarding medical care of individuals throughout the agency.
- Other duties as assigned by the Nursing Director
Job Requirements:
- Applicants must hold an active Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate for the State of Pennsylvania
- At least (1) one year experience in the nursing field. (Clinical training included)
