Job Summary:
Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster (OAL) a leading provider of orthopedic care with five locations across Lancaster and Lebanon counties is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient operations across all OAL offices by managing inventory and durable medical equipment (DME) programs. The ideal candidate will have a background as an Athletic Trainer LPN OTC or as a Rad Tech.
Job Description/Duties:
Attend and participate in regular meetings with Supervisor on oversight of Inventory and DME program.
Assist in the negotiation of product pricing.
Develop all Par Levels of Inventory and Linens at each office with DME
Manage and minimize waste.
Oversee and assist in management of par levels with office managers/operations manager(s)/clinical manager.
Oversee management and development of inventory management system with our vendors (Motion MD).
Develop inventory reports.
Coordinate all invoices and payments with Finance Department.
Manage Linen and Supply vendor relationships.
Present Medicare updates and new product Development as it pertains to DME at Physician/leadership meetings.
Recruiting hiring and training of all DME specific personnel in conjunction with human resources personnel.
Coordinate all initial and ongoing training of DME personnel at each office.
Coordinate all initial and ongoing training with physician assistants medical assistants nurses orthopedic tech and or cast techs on brace fitting.
Oversee the billing program with Billing Manager to include pre-certification charge entry and collections.
Oversee Daily Program Operations to include inventory brace fitting EMR orders charge entry Medicare compliance.
Oversee the introduction of new products into inventory.
Oversee the education of the physicians on the program itself and act as a resource for products.
Oversee the updates of the policy and procedure notebooks as well as the product notebooks.
Assist in the OAL Cast Room department including scheduling and staffing.
Conduct splinting/casting training.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
At least one (1) year of experience in inventory management is required.
At least one (1) year of experience in DME fitting sizing and ordering is required.
The candidate must have one of the following current credentials valid in the State of Pennsylvania and educational background:
Athletic Training Licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine.
Bachelors or Masters Degree from a CAATE accredited university athletic training program.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license
Graduate of accredited radiologic technologist program.
Current LPN licensure
Graduate of accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
Current Orthopedic Technologist (OTC) certification.
Graduate of accredited of NBCOT program.
Valid CPR certification.
Ability to Walk/Stand frequently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current or previous EMR experience specifically EPIC is a plus.
Experience in splinting/casting as well as experience in training others on how to splint and cast.
Experience using a computer is highly preferred and being comfortable with learning new technologies.
Strong organization skills.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Time management skills.
Strong organizational skills.
