Job Summary
Overview: ELFHCC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant Behavioral Health to support the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services. This hybrid role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure high-quality care and efficient coordination for patients with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist behavioral health providers with patient screenings assessments and documentation of medical and psychosocial histories.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms; support intake procedures including vital signs and relevant data collection.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and facilitate smooth intake processes.
- Coordinate appointments referrals and follow-ups for patients requiring ongoing behavioral health services.
- Medication prior authorizations referrals answering BH phone line
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Stay current with CPR and basic first aid certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in behavioral health or primary care settings preferred.
