About the Team

Our team is responsible for the entire user journey starting from how people discover Make all the way to becoming successful long-term customers. While our initial focus has been on our public-facing website we are now expanding our mission to accelerate growth directly within the product.

This expanded scope focuses on designing building and optimizing product features and experiences that drive Makes growth. We concentrate on three core areas: enabling and engaging users to help them find value quickly designing awesome customer journeys to expand our user base and accelerating exponential growth through referrals sharing and re-engagement.

We operate with an action-biased mindset balancing long-term strategic initiatives with quick iterative tests. Our decisions are data-driven and grounded in a deep obsession with our customers as we work to design successful customer journeys that expand adoption retention and revenue.

The Role

As a Software Engineer in this team you will have a direct and measurable impact on the success of Make. You will work across the entire product and technology stack to design build and optimize experiences that drive our growth metrics. This is a role for those who love to get things done and see their work translate directly into business outcomes. From improving the onboarding journey to reduce churn to enabling A/B experiments that enhance user activation your work will be at the forefront of our mission to empower millions of users.

What youll do

• Become a key member of a cross-functional product team focused on growth.
• Design and develop solutions to interesting problems across the stack building new product features that directly impact growth.
• Leverage AI to build smarter more personalized user experiences.
• Refactor code to improve maintainability performance reliability and resiliency of our systems.
• Ship code to production every day.
• Automate repetitive work.
• Write and review RFCs and technical documentation.
• Grow and help others grow professionally.
• If you like you can participate in cross-cutting initiatives and influence how engineering practices and tooling evolve at Make.
• Be willing to participate on an on-call rotation to respond to incidents that impact availability.

What we expect from you

You are a proactive and product-minded engineer who is passionate about using technology to drive business growth. You are comfortable working across different technologies and are not afraid to dive into a new part of the codebase. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by seeing the impact of your work on the companys success.

• You get AI. Youre already using it daily to move faster and build better whether youre designing a system writing code or shipping features.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer (3 years) with a track record of shipping high-quality products.
• Experience working across the full stack (frontend and backend).
• You are a strong communicator and can articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• You are a self-starter who can take ownership of projects from inception to completion.
