Job Summary
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the broad area of mechanics of materials. Candidates with appropriate experience and credentials will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Candidates with demonstrated expertise and strong research potential in the mechanics of soft and emerging materials AI-guided material design surface/interface tuning and mechanical analysis mechanics under extreme conditions durability and damage mechanics are invited to addition to a clear research focus successful applicants are expected to develop and sustain a significant national recognized and externally funded research program that includes a strong record of peer-reviewed publications mentorship of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. Applicants are expected to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses participate in assigned department and university duties and demonstrate leadership in relevant professional and technical societies. A competitive salary and research startup funds are available for this position.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start date. Postdoctoral or industry research experience is desirable.
