Instructional Technologist
Job Summary:
The Part-Time Faculty Support Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to the faculty of DTS. This individual will assist in planning producing and managing the progress of faculty podcasts. They will advise faculty in best practices run recording sessions and ensure the timely execution of podcast deliverables. Additionally they will train faculty on the use of desktop and classroom technology including the Office 365 suite (Teams PPT Word OneDrive etc.) as well as how to implement them to facilitate any professional task whether that be in-class usage informal communication with students personal research etc. Furthermore they will also be responsible for creating how-to manuals in both PDF and video formats with attention paid to both form and function. If the need arises their scope of training will extend to anyone who will facilitate classroom lectures and discussions such as the administrative assistants of academic departments volunteer students vice presidents and executive directors or any other heavy meeting-room users.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service to the DTS family with a particular emphasis on faculty.
Coordinate recording sessions equipment setup and file delivery.
Liaise with faculty and IT/media teams to ensure consistent quality and on-time release.
Analyze and report on podcast analytics recommending any necessary changes.
Schedule and conduct training sessions with academic departments which will include interfacing with department heads and administrative assistants.
Regularly interface with the Academic Affairs Office and the Dean of Faculty Development to keep a pulse on the needs of the faculty.
Proactively conduct extensive and thorough Teams training with all faculty.
Proactively conduct extensive and thorough classroom technology training using MTRs (Microsoft Teams Rooms).
Conduct additional Office 365 training particularly on the creative use of PowerPoint and Word.
Troubleshoot Teams in a desktop and classroom environment.
Appropriately elevate tickets through the proper channels.
Create PDFs and videos for various How-to manuals.
Continually educate oneself on Office 365 and classroom technology.
Other tasks as directed by DTS management and IT department personnel.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Humble driven and creative problem-solver.
Strong understanding ofMicrosoft Teams including meeting setup troubleshooting and integration with OneDrive/SharePoint.
Knowledge ofMicrosoft Teams Rooms (MTR)systems and basic AV troubleshooting.
Proficiency withaudio hardware(microphones interfaces headphones mixers).
Competence infile management version control andcloud-based storage systems.
Skill invideo editing(basic proficiency using Premiere Pro or similar tools).
Familiarity withlearning management systems (LMS)andfaculty training principlesis a plus.
Education and Experience:
Experience with both Mac and Windows Operating Systems.
- Working knowledge of Office 365. An intimate understanding of Teams is preferred.
At least two years of related experience requested.
Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for short periods.
Must be able to stand on a ladder.
Must be able to perform classroom maintenance.
