Adjunct Instructor - Early Childhood Graduate Program
Fisher College a private not-for-profit institution located in the historic Back Bay district in the heart of Boston is committed to providing transformative higher education experiences. With small class sizes personalized instruction and dedicated faculty Fisher supports students in pursuing their passions and preparing for meaningful Early Childhood Education Department at Fisher College is seeking qualified candidates to serve as adjunct instructors for the Early Childhood Graduate Program. Standard faculty responsibilities encompass course instruction preparation grading and student engagement.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach courses according to assigned schedule
- Follow the official approved curriculum and syllabus
- Facilitate engaging online learning experiences aligned with course objectives and program outcomes
- Prepare the course in Canvas aligning with institutional policies and designated teaching modality.
- Lead four synchronous class sessions via Microsoft Teams (1 hour each)
- Provide timely constructive feedback on assignments and discussions
- Record all grades using the Canvas gradebook
- Use TurnitIn for papers requiring citations and review similarity reports
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure course quality and alignment with course objectives/program learning outcomes
- Follow all additional academic policies as designated by the VPAA
Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years classroom experience
- Minimum of 3years of college level teaching experience
- Knowledge of Canvas preferred
- Demonstrated success in undergraduate/graduate teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor adult learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students faculty and staff across a wide range of academic cultural and social identities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching online in higher education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and the Canvas Learning Management Systems.
