Responsibilities:

  • Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings equipment inspection and road condition inspection reports

  • Support Foreperson in the planning of work to meet contractual milestones

  • Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew

  • Operate equipment on work sites as needed

  • Help ensure health safety and environment related concerns are addressed promptly

  • Shared rotation of on call emergencies

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 or 3 drivers license with air endorsement and a clear 3-year drivers abstract

  • Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance road construction bridges or related field is required

  • Snow plow experience is preferred

  • Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer skills are an asset

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol and audiogram testing

Work Conditions:

  • This is a local position (No camp)

  • Will be required to work shifts on-call and nights as necessary

  • Benefits provided by CLAC

  • Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions

Rates & Premiums:

  • Will be provided a base hourly rate of $33.75/hr

  • Eligible to receive premiums starting at $8/hour when performing winter maintenance operations

  • Operators will be eligible to receive a premium starting at $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit
