Youre a technically skilled professional with around five years experience in a related field ideally with exposure to defence or defence industry environments. Youre confident working independently or as part of a team and you bring strong problem-solving abilities excellent communication skills and a solid grasp of computer systems. Youre curious courageous and collaborativesomeone who thrives on delivering outcomes and continuously improving how things are done. You take pride in your work understand the importance of secure systems and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety and operational integrity. A vocational qualification in a relevant technical discipline is desirable and youre open to occasional interstate travel to support national operations.
About the Role
As a Node Maintenance Technician youll play a critical role in supporting the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) and its enhanced successor the EDHFCS. Youll be responsible for delivering maintenance support services that ensure mission systems and control equipment meet operational requirements. Your day-to-day will involve conducting preventative and corrective maintenance investigating system faults producing technical documentation and contributing to engineering decisions and process improvements. Youll work closely with technical teams across Babcock to ensure seamless integration and knowledge capture while upholding strict security and safety standards. This is a hands-on role where your technical discipline and attention to detail will directly support the Australian Defence Forces communications capability.
To be successful in this position you will bring;
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines
- Based locally in Townsville
- Posess a high level of technical capability and development
