IT Systems Administrator:

The IT administrator is responsible for deploying and actively managing IT end-user systems and other related IT hardware/software in order to support day-to-day operations. This role is also helps define cloud based and on-prem architecture and support of IT Operations.

This is an onsite position in Gainesville VA.

Primary duties within varied scope of work and expectations will range from:

  • Plans and executes technical support requirements both contracted andincidental
  • Provides technical support for installing repairing andmaintainingpersonal endpoint devices (desktops laptops tablets mobile) and related software/hardware (device agnostic)
  • Resolves issues and problems within individual and group hardware andsoftware
  • System administrative duties for various cloud based and on-premsystems
  • Trains andmaintainsresources to execute customer supportactivities
  • AV/Video conferencing support
  • Monitoring and incident resolution
  • Handles escalation on delayed/unresolvedproblems
  • Work with third party support teams to resolveissues
  • Formulates andmaintainsinformation Security Protocols
  • Establishesmaintains andmonitorsproper backup and securityprocesses
  • Maintains SLA performanceparameters
  • Defines hardware standards; defines end userpolicies
  • Actively manages end-user and other IT systems including hardening reporting patch management etc.
  • Installs tests and configures new workstations peripheral equipment andsoftware
  • Maintains inventory of all equipment software and software licenses
  • Manages PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware images andsoftware
  • Performstimelyhardware and software upgrades asrequired

Additional accountabilities:

  • Assist with IT security related audits (PCI SOS NIST etc.)
  • Keeps abreast of emergingtechnology
  • Assistswith onboarding & off boardingusers
  • 100% adherence to company culture and great best practices

Required Qualifications Skills and Experience for Success:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as an IT Administrator Tier 2 Help Desk with in-depth knowledge of infrastructure or multiple infrastructure and operational roles
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience managing Microsoft 365 Office environment setting up users and computers active directory managing email domainsmonitoring andmaintainingcybersecurity policies and systems managing andmaintainingSharePoint online building and deploying computer images and configurations
  • Excellent internal/external customer service skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a team environment but comfortable working alone with littledirection
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently time management and planningahead
  • Demonstrated agility to pivot between competing priorities andsituations
  • Solid understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
  • Understanding of IT security and related audit requirements
  • Understanding of cloud systems administration

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevatedequipment
  • Ability to stand forlong periodsof time in various workenvironments
  • Ability to bend stoop kneel and reach for equipment relatedtasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areasquickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components andconnectors
  • Clear vision with or without correction to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safetyglasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs labels andcables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside afacility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme temperatures rain orsnow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearingprotection
  • Possession of a valid drivers license for work-related travel asrequired

Preferred Qualifications Skills and Experience:

  • Possess critical thinking and complex problem-solvingskills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative where necessary
