Reporting to: SENDCo / Assistant Headteacher.

We currently have a vacancy for a highly motivated Pastoral Support Assistant / SEN Learning Support Assistant.

The post is split over the two roles to provide support for the Pastoral Team in the morning and LSA in the afternoons.

Pastoral Support Assistant:

The core responsibility of this post is to ensure that the post holder is proactive in identifying children and families who need additional provision and actioning support alongside colleagues and outside agencies to ensure the children at Combs Ford Primary Schoolachieve their full with our Pastoral Team this will entail parental engagement assisting with attendance advocating for the children and supporting their holistic development.

You will also work as an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead to safeguard children at Combs Ford Primary.

SEN Learning Support Assistant:

To provide learning and care support for children in class including children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in small groups or one-to-one.

We are looking for a candidate who will:

• provide learning and care support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in class in small groups or one-to-one

• be the Designated Adult for named children

• work with the teacher to plan and deliver activities

• support children with routines transitions and behaviour management including successful entry into school in the morning

• responsible for supervising children and leading activities during the lunch break to ensure that the break runs effectively and that the safety and welfare of children is maintained.

Combs Ford Primary is a two-form entry primary school located to the south of the market town of Stowmarket where the Rivers Gipping and Rattlesden meet. We currently have 350 children on roll.
