Student Employment Opportunity:Library Public Services Circulation Assistant

**This position is for current Palmer College of Chiropractic students only.

Function:

The function of the Library Public Services Circulation Assistantwork-study position is to support Public Services and assist in all areas of the library.

Organizational Relationship:

Responsible to the Library Technical Assistant and Head Librarian of Public Services in the David D. Palmer Health Sciences Library for successful performance of assigned duties.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service and relay any issues or complex questions to library staff
Assist library patrons in locating items in the librarys online catalog and within the stacks
Perform basic circulation functions with the library computer system. Adhere to and enforce circulation policies and procedures
Assist patrons with printing issues and replenish printer supplies as needed
Record an hourly head count for library records and tally usage statistics
Answer the telephone and provide basic information about library services and resources; transfer calls to other departments as needed
Keep the library tidy; pick up and discard any trash found on tables around machines and the floor; move furniture back to its original placement
Assist with opening and closing procedures

Requirements & Skills:

The ideal candidates for this position are detail-oriented possess excellent customer service skills and are willing to uphold library policies with faculty staff and fellow students.
Must have a schedule compatible with the librarys hours of operation. Must notify library staff if you are running late for a shift or need time off.

Disclaimer: A students length of participation in the Student Employment Program will be from the date of hire until termination either by student supervisor or Office of Financial Planning and not to exceed the students enrollment at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
