Opal Australian Paper is an industry-leading paper manufacturing business and we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Container Planner to join our Despatch Team.

In this pivotal role youll coordinate the safe and efficient transport of product between our Maryvale Paper Mill and Port Melbourne Operations. Managing approximately 200 containers per week youll be responsible for container collection planning load sequencing and rail service coordination to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all containerised product.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the export service team to sequence container releases in line with shipping schedules escalating issues where required
  • Monitor container free days to prevent detention charges
  • Coordinate container delivery to match production schedules and product availability
  • Prepare accurate train load plans for every inbound and outbound service
  • Participate in continuous improvement reviews focused on train turnaround loading and unloading practices

What Youll Bring:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing logistics or warehousing
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with advanced Excel proficiency (SAP experience desirable)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
