Job Description:

The Specialist Trade Compliance Technical Specialist will be part of the IMS Segment Jurisdiction/Classification Team that supports multiple U.S. Government foreign government and commercial programs across the various business units of L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems Segment. The Technical Specialist will provide technical and regulatory expertise to the team as it ensures that all business units meet regulatory corporate and local compliance requirements for the export jurisdiction and classification determination and import HTS classification of all commodities software items of information and related services being exported from or imported into the U.S.

Essential Functions:

- Perform as a proactive self-motivated highly organized Team player with the ability to handle shifting priorities.
- Support up to10% travel domestically and internationally
- Be trained on the job to support the Technical Specialist role to include:

Determining the jurisdiction and classification as well as Schedule B of commodities software information and related services in support of export operations and HTS classification in support of import operations.
Obtaining export Commodity Jurisdiction determinations and Commodity Classification Request results as needed.
Reviewing supplier and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) classifications and document internal concurrence or re-classification for export and/or import.
Supporting engineering teams across the IMS business units with application of design for export concepts.
Supporting the monitoring maintenance and retention of records and documentation used for jurisdiction and classification determinations and HTS classifications in accordance with regulations and L3Harris policy.
Supporting compliance audits and assessments.
Supporting development and presentation of appropriate training for L3Harris staff including engineering and supply chain stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in an engineering or related technical field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

- United States Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Must have desire to learn the classification of products according to the ITAR EAR and HTSUS
- Must have good organizational skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires keen attention to detail with the ability to learn and comprehend highly detailed laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform research and logical analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to read comprehend interpret and follow complicated written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to interpret engineering documents.
- Perform duties with minimum supervision and participate in cross-functional projects as assigned.
- Analyze evaluate and develop input to existing and new processes and procedures.
- Strong team skills; Encourages team contributions and team members to support each other.
- Communicate effectively and professionally (orally in person or telepresence (Teams and Zoom) and in writing) at all levels of the organization.
- Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies procedures appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Preferred Additional Skills:

- Prefer working experience in regulatory environment (ITAR and EAR) in the aerospace/defense industry or maritime/defense industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and OCR EASE.
- Keyboard skills appropriate for active online communications environment.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role is $71500 - $132500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
