Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Placements and Clinical Experiences coordinates all fieldwork and clinical practice placements for the Mission Valley Online and Bakersfield campuses as assigned.

Salary:
Pay rate: $22.64 per hour
Internal Classification Career Track Support Level 3

Actual salary offered is determined by the candidates experience education skills and other factors including internal equity and university funding resources.

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors all placement competency completion for candidates in all SOE programs including fieldwork and clinical practice. Ensures that competencies have been met before recommendation for fieldwork and/or clinical initial placement or advancement

  • Participates in assessment and evaluation of all placement and sites. Responsible for reporting assessment and evaluation data related to fieldwork and clinical practice to program directors the credential analyst and Associate Deans.

  • Responsible for candidate placement based on the credential(s) and/or added authorizations for which the candidate is seeking

  • Ensures a diversity of settings that enable candidates to develop the knowledge skills and dispositions necessary to demonstrate a positive impact on all students learning

  • Liaison between district partnersuniversity supervisors PLNU faculty and all SOE candidates

  • Recommends to respective program faculty all candidates who have not met screening requirements and need a clinical practice interview

  • Collaborates with the MAT Program Director to ensure the selection of diverse clinical educators that meet state and/or national requirements to supervise and provide support for candidates during clinical practice experiences

  • Ensures that each district with a placement has a signed MOU prior to placing a candidate

  • Works closely with the Assessment System Coordinator on the timely submission and uploading of data

  • Communicates with master teachers regarding candidate/intern placement training requirements and assessment

  • In collaboration with the MAT Program Director and Credential Analyst assigns university supervisors to candidates and interns by credential(s)

  • Collaborates with respective Associate Deans for additional university supervisor hiring needs

  • Provides administrative support for university supervisor meetings trainings and accurate section creation for payroll

  • Communicates with university supervisors for candidate assessments

  • Collaborates as needed with the Coordinator of Outreach

  • Attends advisory council meetings graduate student orientations district partnership events as requested and other events as invited

  • Presents placement orientation to candidates

  • Submits handbook revisions as needed

  • Monitors fieldwork and clinical practice website for accuracy of information

  • Communicates specific hiring requests from district partners to candidates

  • Stays abreast of changing institutional and accreditation information including admissions requirements new programs course changes deadlines important dates costs expanding facilities updates in college-wide initiatives transfer requirements and state and federal mandates

  • Engages in professional development activities including but not limited to memberships in professional organizations; attendance at conferences workshops division and department training sessions; stay current with information technology skills

  • Serves as a resource for faculty

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree required

  • California Teaching Credential preferred

  • Three years of teaching or equivalent related experience in public or private schools required

  • Prior experience in higher education setting with a diverse student population preferred

  • Demonstrates creative problem solving skills that are solution focused

  • Exercises important interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with candidates faculty and staff

  • Maintains a well-organized and professional workspace

  • Works with frequent interruptions and produces job assignments in an accurate and timely manner

  • Understanding of and a commitment to the mission and purpose of PLNU

  • Knowledgeable of FERPA regulations and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to work independently prioritize multiple projects and requests and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and within a collaborative work environment

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge or willingness to learn California Commission on Teaching Credentials (CCTC) administrative rules and CAEP standards

  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between work and partner sites

  • Computer proficiency including word processing spreadsheets and database management; especially with MS Office and Google G Suite required

  • Proficiency in Taskstream preferred

  • Proficiency in Workday preferred

  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church addition staff agree to live in agreement with PLNUs Community Life Covenant.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting for periods greater than one hour. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard mouse and monitor. Vision to read documents e-mail and other correspondence and reports on paper and computer monitor. Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand stoop push pull and lift up to 10 lbs throughout the day.
