Job purpose

To operate pillow-blowing machinery used to fill pillow shells with fiber or other material. This role is accountable for loading operating and monitoring the machinery ensuring the final product meets all quality and quantity specifications and accurately recording production data using our inventory tracking system.

Duties and responsibilities

Operate and Monitor the pillow-blowing machinery adjusting settings (e.g. fill weight material flow) to ensure consistent high-quality pillow production.
Load raw filling materials (fiber foam etc.) into the machinery hopper and perform pre-operation checks.
Review filled pillows based on size color quantity and fill consistency requirements.
Package finished pillows for shipping (bagging boxing labeling) in a manner that eliminates damage during storage and transit.
Responsible for quality control by reviewing all incoming raw material and outgoing finished pillows for defects or improper fill.
Maintain the machinery equipment and surrounding work area in a neat clean and orderly fashion.
Operate scanners or production tracking systems to accurately record materials used and the quantity of finished pillows produced.
Support maintaining a safe working environment and focus on safe machine operation habits.
Maintain a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience.
1-2 years of machine operation or manufacturing/production experience highly preferred.
Must have the ability to meet production deadlines.

Physical requirements

Standing walking and occasional sitting.
Good eye-hand coordination and sense of balance.
Carrying pushing pulling materials and items up to 75 lbs at times.
