Job Title: Pharmacy Consultant
Location: Woodbury New Jersey 08096
Duration: March 1 2026 February 28 2027 (1 Year)
Compensation: $48 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmacy Consultant to provide professional consulting services for a long-term care facility in Woodbury NJ. The consultant will ensure medication accuracy regulatory compliance and best practices in pharmaceutical care for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver pharmacy consulting services in compliance with all state federal and facility regulations.
Conduct monthly chart reviews to identify discrepancies and perform regular unit inspections for medication accuracy.
Provide reports findings and improvement recommendations to facility leadership.
Conduct quarterly medication pass observations with nursing staff across all shifts to ensure medication administration accuracy.
Evaluate and train newly hired nursing staff on medication administration within 90 days of hire.
Facilitate quarterly in-service education sessions for nursing staff.
Participate in quarterly Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings.
Monitor and communicate FDA black box warnings and medication advisories to staff.
Notify facility leadership of any personnel or service changes affecting resident care.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Consultant preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance and pharmacy operations.
Excellent communication documentation and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve medication-related issues effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
