SUMMARY:
Adjunct Facultyrefers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline. Instruction may be delivered on-campus off-campus or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
Plan and create lectures in-class discussions and assignments.
Assess grades for students based on participation performance in class assignments and examinations.
Assist/mentor students as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Must have a terminal degree including a JD in a field of business or have a masters level degree and one or more earned actively maintained recognized industry credentials.
High demand credentials include a range of industry certifications and licenses including by not limited to CPA CFA CFE CFP CMA CIA a PMI credential Real Estate license Insurance license bar admission an ASCM Certification Six Sigma Certified Analytics Professional SCRUM Master etc.
Masters or higher in the teaching discipline or a masters in another field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
Experience: Must have some teaching or industry experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
Proficiency with LMS (e.g. D2L/Canvas/Blackboard) Zoom (or equivalent) and publisher platforms (e.g. Connect MyLab MindTap)
College or University teaching experience.
Evidence of teaching excellence.
Prior relevant industry experience.
Online or hybrid teaching experience.
