How You Show Up for Our Residents
As a Floater Housekeeper you will support both the housekeeping and laundry teams flexing between both departments as needed. Your days will be varied but your mission is always the same: to create a clean safe and welcoming environment for our elders staff and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
General Housekeeping Duties:
Start Strong: Gather all required equipment and supplies before beginning your shift
Clean with Purpose: Maintain cleanliness in elder rooms bathrooms offices hallways and common areas
Floor Care Basics: Vacuum dust mop and damp mop floors in rooms corridors stairwells and entrances
Tackle the Details: Dust vents cabinets and furnitureespecially those high or hard-to-reach areas
Lend a Hand: Assist with moving furniture for deeper cleaning when needed
Make it Comfortable: Wash beds and mattresses; remake beds on schedule or as requested
Deep Clean: Use extractors to clean carpets and upholstered chairs as necessary
Stay Safe: Follow all infection control protocols and wear PPE when required
Work Smart: Use correct chemicals and tools for each task; report equipment issues promptly
Stay Organized: Keep carts closets and equipment clean neat and locked when unattended
Dispose Properly: Collect and transport trash and recyclables to the designated areas
Log Your Work: Use WorxHub for scheduling quality tracking and billing
Laundry Duties:
Handle with Care: Collect soiled linens and transport them to the laundry area following infection control protocols
Sort it Out: Separate laundry by fabric type and color
Weigh it Right: Ensure loads are within proper weight limits before starting wash cycles
Wash Wisely: Load washers select the right cycle/formula and verify proper chemical injection
Dry Efficiently: Transfer wet loads to dryers select appropriate time/temperature and start drying cycles
Keep it Clean: Clean dryer lint traps and record maintenance in daily logs
Fold & Deliver: Fold clean linens and personal laundry; load delivery carts and deliver items on schedule
Label Personal Items: Tag residents personal clothing as needed
Inspect Quality: Check items for damage or wear; remove unsuitable linens from rotation
Track the Work: Record load types weight and classifications on daily laundry reports
Monitor Supplies: Keep an eye on laundry chemical inventory and notify supervisor when stock is low
Tech Tools Youll Use:
WorxHub for task tracking scheduling and reporting
Paycom to clock in/out manage timecards and submit PTO requests
OnShift to view and manage your work schedule
What You Bring to the Table
Valid PA Drivers License
Capable and Ready: Able to successfully perform all key responsibilities of the role with reliability and care.
Committed to Safety: Strictly follows universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe environment especially when there is potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
