About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewans history Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansens construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based out of BHPs corporate office located in Saskatoon but will be regularly scheduled to work at the Jansen Potash site. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.

Purpose

Reporting to theManager Engineering Performance thePrincipal Cost Controlplays a critical role to drive and maintain the cost management discipline performance and effectiveness of thePotash Technology Team. This position will collaborate with the Technology team and our customers across Potash to support financial and business planning processes and cost reporting routines. The incumbent will support the Technology Team to manage operating budgets forecast the future technology operating cost for Jansen and support cost management of capital projects.

About the Role

In this role you will be:

  • Supporting the Technology team with the management of operating and capital costs
  • Monitoring and managing project cost performance to support the delivery of projects in line with requirements and budget
  • Designing and implementing cost governance/assurance practices and to controlling value outcomes for the Technology team
  • Sourcing cost information and conducting analyses to support evidence-based decision making
  • Developing predicting/forecasting and benchmarking operational and project costs and estimates in line with industry standards principles and practices
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize value managing associated risks and applyingOptimized With/Optimized Withoutframework principles to create and preserve maximum value from investments in technology
  • Leading improvements associated the budgeting forecasting and general cost management

About You

  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to absorb information from multiple domains financial operational commercial and technical and understand the value drivers of the technology function and business
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple requests at any one time and plan well into the future and most importantly can do this with resilience through period of high-pressure
  • Demonstrated communication skills which are employed to effectively coach team members in disciplined cost management
  • Passionate about improvement problem solving and offering solutions
  • Has strong networks within the broader Technology team and understands the value of maintaining relationships
  • Highly collaborative and can draw on subject matter expertise within the wider function to uplift the capability of the Technology team
  • An overriding focus on safety wellbeing and a culture of carefor the wider team and respect for the integrity of data

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in commercial financial or technical disciplines
