Our Conservation Programs Heritage & Regulation team is currently seeking to appoint three Senior Managers (North South & Central Metro) to lead teams working on conservation planning and assessment across NSW. These roles are responsible for delivering biodiversity certification conservation planning and auditing biodiversity assessment under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and to implement the NSW plan for nature.
Youll manage a team providing advice to local government Aboriginal land councils landholders infrastructure and development proponents and other government agencies helping to guide conservation outcomes and biodiversity assessment. The work involves leading a team and balancing complex government priorities and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to support better outcomes for nature and communities.
About You
Youre an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in biodiversity assessment strategic planning or conservation science. You understand the legislative frameworks that guide biodiversity work in NSW particularly the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and the Biodiversity Offset Scheme. Youve led high performing teams and complex environmental projects and youre confident navigating the intersection of conservation planning and biodiversity assessment other government priorities. Your ability to interpret scientific information policy and strategic direction and provide clear practical advice makes you a trusted voice among stakeholders.
Youre also a collaborative leader who builds strong relationships across government industry and community. You communicate clearly manage competing priorities and bring a solutions-focused mindset to your work. Whether mentoring your team or engaging with external partners youre known for your integrity professionalism and commitment to delivering outcomes that benefit both nature and people.
