Job Summary
An excellent secondary school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join their thriving Science Department on a full-time permanent basis starting immediately.
This forward-thinking school rated Good by Ofsted caters to approximately 1200 pupils aged 1118 and is recognised for its strong academic performance inclusive culture and well-resourced laboratories. The Science Department is highly collaborative with a clear focus on developing students curiosity through practical experimentation and hands-on learning.
As a Science Technician you will play an integral role in preparing practical experiments across Biology Chemistry and Physics maintaining laboratory equipment managing stock and ensuring all health and safety standards are rigorously upheld. You will work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of engaging lessons assist in demonstrations and help implement departmental initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a secondary school science environment though applications from university graduates or laboratory professionals looking to transition into education are also encouraged. A strong understanding of COSHH risk assessments and safe chemical handling is essential.
