About the Role

Were looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative K-12 commercial and municipal building projects across Virginia.

This role offers a great opportunity to take ownership of design projects from concept through commissioning while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. Youll play a key role in shaping building systems that strengthen local schools workplaces and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead complete electrical design phases - from concept load calculations and layout drawings to equipment selection.
Prepare design documentation specifications and construction packages.
Coordinate closely with mechanical structural and architectural teams.
Ensure designs meet code requirements budgets and project schedules.
Participate in client meetings to understand project scope and objectives.
Provide technical support during construction including RFIs submittals and site inspections.
Support commissioning and quality control processes for final project delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
8 years of experience in building electrical design (K-12 commercial municipal or government projects).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
EIT license required (Virginia); PE license preferred.
LEED Accreditation is a plus.
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
