Job Summary (List Format):
- Incident Management:
- Proactively monitor and perform system checkouts to prevent or minimize service outages.
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults escalating as needed to restore services.
- Operational Readiness:
- Complete pre-production checklists for new network services.
- Ensure network management tools and processes are updated and staff is trained on recovery procedures.
- Change Management:
- Coordinate and implement network changes in conjunction with Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Engineering teams.
- Support and execute configuration tasks assigned to Network Operations.
- Service Requests & Support:
- Handle service requests and provide operational support for network maintenance.
- Represent Network Operations in initiatives such as vendor reviews asset management and capacity management.
- Support proactive network maintenance to keep infrastructure healthy.
- Process Improvement:
- Own and execute tasks aimed at improving operational support processes technologies or tools.
- Technical Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or related field (or 3 years of relevant experience).
- Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF BGP) TCP/IP Layer 2/3 switching.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to provide weekend and off-hours support.
- Preferred certifications: JNCIA CCNA or equivalent.
- Experience in the financial industry is a plus.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor network events and initiate incident response.
- Conduct routine network analysis using automated tools.
- Coordinate on-site activities with vendors (hot hands).
- Collaborate with advanced engineering support.
- Develop knowledge base solutions.
- Apply multicast troubleshooting techniques.
- Utilize network management tools efficiently.
- Work Expectations:
- Availability for rotational weekend and emergency off-hours support.
- Commitment to thorough documentation and continuous personal development.
