Job Summary
Description
RPO Recruitments client a well-established civil engineering contractor with a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across South Africa is currently seeking a professionally registered Site Agent to lead the delivery of major national roads projects in the Northern Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time within budget and to specified quality and safety standards.
- Plan coordinate and oversee project resources including labour plant subcontractors and materials.
- Liaise closely with the client engineers and consultants to maintain strong professional relationships and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and manage construction programmes cost reports and progress documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to health safety and environmental regulations.
- Lead mentor and develop site teams to achieve performance and productivity targets.
- Manage contract administration variations and claims in collaboration with the project manager and quantity surveying team.
- Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies and quality management systems.
Requirements:
- BTech/BEng/National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng/Pr Techni Eng registration with ECSA or Pr CM registration with SACPCMP (essential)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in civil construction with at least 5 years in a Site Agent or Senior Site Management role on large-scale national or equivalent road projects
- Proven ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary road construction projects including earthworks layerworks drainage and surfacing
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. GCC 2015 FIDIC or NEC)
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid drivers licence
- Willingness to be based on site in the Northern Cape
