Registered Nurse 2iC T ICU
Introduction
A vacancy has arisen for a position of Registered Nurse 2ic in the T ICU Unit at Life Wilgers Hospital situated in Pretoria. The above position reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of this unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.
Critical Outputs
- Perform basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
- Ensure the unit operates according to acceptable legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain excellent patient and customer care in line with Life Healthcare standards.
- Foster sound relationships and communication with patients relatives and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Assist the Unit Manager in leading the TICU team to achieve clinical excellence.
- Support staff training to ensure clinical competence in a cardiothoracic intensive care environment.
- Build professional relationships with doctors and therapists to enhance patient-doctor interaction.
- Uphold Health Safety and Infection Control standards.
- Assist with managing the units budget including equipment maintenance pharmacy stock control stock holding gross profit margins and debtors days.
- Contribute to effective management of the Ward Management System and CBT.
- Critical Care qualification and registration with SANC.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Cardiology or Cardiothoracic ICU environment.
