The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will play a vital role in supporting interventional radiology neuro endovascular and spine services with a clinical focus on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak evaluation and treatment venous fistula management and spine-related diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position integrates procedural skill comprehensive patient assessment and multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver safe effective and compassionate care across the neurointerventional and spine service lines.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive pre-procedural assessments including sedation evaluations to determine patient readiness for neuro interventional procedures.
Obtain and document informed procedural consents ensuring patients and families understand indications risks benefits and alternatives.
Provide pre- and post-procedural care including sedation recovery pain management (pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic) patient education and discharge instructions.
Manage post-treatment and longitudinal care monitoring for complications evaluating treatment efficacy and coordinating multidisciplinary follow-up.
Perform lumbar punctures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes adhering to institutional safety and sterile protocols.
Provide cross-coverage and continuity among interventional radiology neuro endovascular spine service lines and CSF leak management to ensure efficient workflow and consistent patient care delivery.
Participate in case reviews quality improvement initiatives and clinical research related to neuro endovascular CSF leak and spine interventions.
Serve as a key liaison between patients families and the multidisciplinary care team to promote communication continuity and optimal clinical outcomes.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP or ANP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.
BLS and ACLS certifications required. DEA required.
Additional Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in interventional radiology neurology neurosurgery or procedural medicine.
Demonstrated competency in sterile technique procedural safety and peri-procedural management.
Excellent communication organization and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
