The Digital Strategy Practitioner supports system leadership strategy and policy development within the Government Digital Strategy team.
The role works closely with the Director Government Digital Strategy to deliver on government priorities and provide high-quality advice that shapes the digital direction of the public sector. Its purpose is to drive service modernisation leverage emerging technologies and ensure digital investment and activity across government is strategic coherent and future-focused.
The Digital Strategy Practitioner ensures the team can translate high-level priorities into actionable strategy advice and portfolio planning.
The Practitioner is responsible for:
- Leading the development of comprehensive digital strategies and evidence-informed advice aligned with the goals of the government
- Providing portfolio responses and monitoring reports that provide whole-of-government visibility
- Developing guidance that aligns digital investment and initiatives with broader government outcomes.
This position works closely with the Director Government Digital Strategy to provide advice strategy development and system leadership. The position also develops and monitors all-of-government plans to operationalise the Governments digital strategy.
The key skills and capabilities required for this position include:
- Extensive experience delivering strategic leadership trusted advice and identifying emergent issues
- Experience leading digital strategy development preferably within the public sector or large organisation
- Experience working collaboratively across government with the ability to build buy-in and support from across the Public Service
- Knowledge of or experience in government investment strategy and processes
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their applications with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
- Strong analytical intellectual and problem-solving skills ability to think creatively assess linkages and propose innovative solutions to address complex challenges
- Ability to align strategic advice with government priorities and successfully navigate policy challenges
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Tertiary qualification in information technology business management public policy or a related field.
