Clean Harbors is seeking a Hazardous Materials Technician responsible for the performance of tasks associated with handling hazardous materials on a customer site.

Responsibilities

Make chemical pickups throughout customer facility as directed.
Conduct chemical bulking/consolidation as required.
Responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
Participate in spill response on customers site as needed.
Attend all compliance and safety update meetings.
Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
Operate forklift in a safe manner
Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

0 to 3 years experience
Forklift and shipping experience

Skills:

Attention to detail.

Able to take and follow directions.

Able to perform multiple tasks.

Proficiency in Windows based applications

Waste Disposal Comprehensive disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at Company-owned facilities
Recycling Services Extensive recycling reuse and reclamation options for materials such as solvents chemicals oil and electrical equipment
Chemical Packing Safe efficient handling and disposal of the widest range of chemicals including reactive and compressed gases
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Services HHW collection programs of all types and sizes facilitated by Clean Harbors expert personnel
