Job Summary
The Marine Claims Examiner is responsible for managing marine claims (Cargo RCV MTO) from initial notification through to settlement. This includes investigation liability assessment coverage confirmation and damage assessment. The role also encompasses subrogation claims management and requires close collaboration with surveyors legal firms brokers and insureds both nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage marine claims (Cargo RCV MTO) from opening to settlement including:
- Investigation
- Liability assessment
- Coverage confirmation
- Damage assessment
- Oversee subrogation claims management processes.
- Liaise effectively with surveyors and legal firms both domestically and internationally.
- Provide service and strategic guidance to brokers and insureds.
- Ensure claim files are constantly updated with accurate information gathered throughout the process.
- Cooperate with all other Chubb functions to deliver prompt and effective responses.
- Adhere to company best practices and guidelines in all claims management activities.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience:
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Law degree
- Knowledge of the main regulations governing international transport
- Negotiation skills and ability to anticipate critical issues
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Integrity professionalism and resilience.
