We are looking for a Marine Engineer to join Installation Department in Milan HQ.

This role involves both Installation Engineering in the office and frequent offshore management at Submarine Installation sites.

Installation Engineering in the office:

  • Prepare documentation develop calculations drawings time schedules and risk assessment for all cable installation activities from preliminary works to cable handling.

  • Select and prepare vessels and burial/subsea machines maintenance and correct use during operations.

  • Support subcontractor selection through technical specifications and supervise their work during installation to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and company policies promoting environmental protection and pollution prevention.

  • Monitor operative schedules for efficiency and provide accurate reporting to relevant departments.

  • Coordinate regularly with Installation Department Management and other company departments (Project Management Manufacturing System Engineering Quality) to ensure alignment and proper reporting.

  • Maintain effective communication with Client Representatives on technical planning and operational aspects both on-site and remotely.

Offshore Operations in the installation sites

This part of the role covers the operative execution on all marine installation sites activities for the implementation of a Project. The activity is carried out mainly on installation vessels or on other marine installation sites such as landing points offshore platforms etc.

  • Preliminary works such as route clearance PLGR pre-lay burial runs mobilization of vessels.

  • Cable loading laying burial with a wide variety of machines.

  • Cable pulling through HDD conduits or onto offshore platforms.

  • Cable repair and jointing.

Function requires significant travel on an international basis 30/40% of time.

You are the right fit if you have/are:

  • Fluent in English

  • Masters Degree in Marine Engineering or other Engineering related subjects

  • Preferably experience in a role involved in installation of submarine cable but more in general in the construction industry.

  • Availability to spend long periods abroad on site (approx. 30/40% per year).

  • Leadership attitude.

  • Good communication skills and relationship approach with Clients and subcontractors.
