The Department of Anesthesia at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) is an active clinical and academic affiliated department of 27 collaborative anesthesiologists. The department is seeking 2 full time anesthesiologists. On-call responsibilities are approximately one night every three weeks and one weekend every six weeks. Work hours typically range from 35 to 50 hours per week (e.g. 7:00 am to 6:00 pm plus on-call duties).
Lions Gate Hospital is a level 3 Trauma Centre which provides a broad range of 24/7 anesthetic care for neurosurgery general surgery orthopaedics urology obstetrics gynaecology plastics otolaryngology ophthalmology and limited paediatrics. The Department of Anesthesia provides an acute pain service weekday pre-anesthetic clinic and supports interventional radiology palliative care gastroenterology cardiology and psychiatry. There is an active regional anesthesia component and academic team.
Lions Gate Hospital is a recognized centre and a key acute care provider serving a population exceeding 270000 residents across the North Shore Sea-to-Sky Country and beyond. Our comprehensive facilities including the state-of-the-art Paul Myers Tower with 108 private patient rooms and eight new operating rooms ensure LGH remains at the forefront of healthcare delivery in the Vancouver Coastal Health region.
Qualifications
Education Licensing & Experience:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Desired
- Anesthesia Experience - Desired
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) - Desired
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Full
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) Mandatory
