The role Te mahi
As Development Manager youll manage a dynamic portfolio of prospects using thoughtful strategies to identify engage and cultivate potential donors. Youll work closely with campus colleagues to align fundraising priorities and lead major gift conversations. Alumni events will be key opportunities to spark new connections and strengthen existing relationships.
With a strong understanding of advancement best practices youll monitor progress toward campaign goals maintain accurate records and ensure each prospect has a tailored engagement plan. Guided by DAROs Prospect Management Guidelines youll also bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to our fundraising approach staying attuned to national and global trends.

Were looking for someone with:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
Proven success in fundraising or in building relationships with corporate partners and high-net-worth individuals.
Confidence and credibility to engage with a wide range of people groups and organisations.
Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy in all interactions.
Discretion a global perspective and the ability to inspire and collaborate with others.
Other key skills and qualities include:
Strong understanding of strategies for engaging alumni communities.
Excellent communication skillsverbal written and presentationto connect with diverse audiences.
Global mindset and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Passion for the impact of philanthropy at the University of Otago.
Flexibility to work outside normal hours including travel and evening events.

This is a part-time position (18.75 hours per week) based in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
The salary range for this role is $96587 to $105532 Top of Range $114474.
You must have the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand to be considered for this position.
