The Senior / Principal Renewable Energy Engineer provides senior technical leadership and delivery capability across a broad range of renewable energy projects including Solar PV Wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role involves hands-on design technical review and interdisciplinary collaboration across project stages from concept to construction.
Key responsibilities and activities include:
Planning scheduling and execution of renewable energy projects including:
Prepare cost estimates project budgets and resource allocation plans.
Coordinate with project managers clients and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Coordination and technical leadership in the delivery of renewable energy engineering and design projects/packages.
Feasibility studies including assessing grid connection options and renewable energy resource.
Technical lead for the development of concept design and electrical system designs for renewable facilities including wind solar and BESS amongst other emerging technologies.
Preparing and reviewing design deliverables and project documents including drawings single line diagrams technical specifications schedules and reports.
Qualifications :
- Masters / Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
- A minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in renewable energy design and delivery.
- Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or working towards it) is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience delivering a range of renewable energy projects including experience in solar PV and BESS. Familiarity with TOPCon/Heterojunction Cell Technology for Solar PV is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and review detailed technical outputs to a high standard.
- Experience with industry standard design tools such as PVSyst PVcase/HelioScope (or equivalent) and AutoCAD is desirable.
- Power system studies (PSCAD/PSSE ETAP/DIgSILENT PowerFactory) experience and understanding of the grid connection application and commissioning/compliance testing processes in Australia New Zealand and or United Kingdom is desirable.
