Job Summary

The Bureau of Application Development & Database Administration is committed to providing high quality customized software business solutions and database administration/advisory services that aligns with the agencys strategic goals and public health vision to Promote and Protect the Citys Health. Together we can make a difference in the health of all New Yorkers. Application Development: Our standard development platform is for web and desktop applications Microsoft Xamarin for cross-platform mobile development and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration. We utilize stable and proven technologies methodologies and frameworks to develop high-quality software business solutions and data integrations. Database Administration and Advisory Services: Our enterprise database environment consists primarily of Microsoft SQL Server technology supported by our team of database administrators following standard policies and procedures. We ensure that critical databases are operational 24/7 and available in a disaster situations. We also provide advisory services to programs with specialized database needs. Software Change Management: Our software change and configuration management follows our standard operating procedures for software production deployment. We utilize industry standard Microsoft Team Foundation Services (TFS) for source code management and automated builds and releases.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Modify and code for applications to meet the business needs.
Work with a DBA to performance tuning the existing SQL database structure.
Collaborate with other software developers business analysts software architects and IT professionals to implement practical solutions
Ensure that all solutions are lightweight scalable and built to a high level of quality
Ensure security is being factored into each step of the software development process for various systems
Create estimates on time and effort to complete assignments based on end-user requirements.

Preferred:
-Minimum eight (8) years of strong hands-on C# Core JavaScript with strong knowledge of Object Oriented development principles.
-Minimum five (5) years of Microsoft SQL server experience with strong knowledge of relational database principals normalization functions and stored procedures.
Experience translating business requirements to technical specifications and database designs. Must have strong database design experience.
-Experience and comfort providing accurate project and work effort estimates.
-Ability to work well in a team environment.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Analytical mind with ability to think outside the box.
-Proven ability to keep up to date on latest technology trends.

CYBER SECURITY ANALYST - 13633


Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security network security computer science computer programming computer engineering information technology information science information systems management network administration or a pertinent scientific technical or related area; or

2. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in 1 above; or

3. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in 2 above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of addition twenty-four (24) credits from an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security network security computer science computer programming computer engineering information technology information science information systems management network administration or a pertinent scientific technical or related area; or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school) may be substituted for one year of experience.
