Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure data services to design and deliver scalable secure and high-performing cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate will lead architecture and implementation for modern data lakehouse/warehouse solutions enabling analytics reporting and data science workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Modeling

• Define end-to-end Azure data architecture for structured and unstructured data

• Design data models for analytics and reporting (Star/Snowflake schemas)

• Establish architecture standards patterns and best practices

Data Ingestion & Integration

• Build scalable ingestion pipelines from on-prem cloud APIs and streaming sources

• Use Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or Event Hub / IoT Hub for batch and streaming ingestion

• Integrate data across enterprise systems with reliable orchestration and error handling

Data Transformation & Processing

• Develop ETL/ELT workflows using ADF and Databricks

• Implement transformations business logic data cleansing and enrichment

• Work with Spark on Databricks for large-scale processing

Data Storage & Management

• Design and manage Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure Synapse Analytics / Azure SQL Database

• Implement performance and cost-optimized storage and compute strategies

• Ensure data quality availability and lifecycle management

Governance Security & Compliance

• Apply governance policies including RBAC encryption and auditing

• Manage secrets securely using Azure Key Vault

• Ensure compliance with policies/regulations such as GDPR HIPAA (as applicable)

Monitoring & Optimization

• Monitor pipelines and workloads using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics

• Tune performance for pipelines Spark jobs and SQL queries

• Optimize cloud spend through scaling strategies and architecture improvements

Collaboration

• Partner with Data Engineers Data Scientists BI Developers and Enterprise Architects

• Translate business needs into technical data platform solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience architecting Azure data platforms using:

  • ADF Synapse Analytics Databricks ADLS Azure SQL

  • Event Hub / IoT Hub (streaming ingestion)

• Strong SQL (T-SQL) and data warehousing concepts

• Programming experience with Python or Scala (Databricks/Spark)

• Working knowledge of PowerShell for automation (preferred)

• Strong understanding of data governance security and compliance

• Experience with monitoring troubleshooting and performance tuning in Azure

Nice to Have

• Experience with lakehouse architecture and enterprise-scale data platforms

• Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Data Engineer Azure Solutions Architect) preferred

• Experience with Agile delivery and stakeholder management
