About the Role
Were seeking a Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join the Polio Services Victoria this role you will deliver high quality person-centred goal-oriented care within a supportive and specialist multidisciplinary medical and allied health team. You will assess and treat clients referred to Polio Services and support their ongoing management. Your days will consist of multidisciplinary clinics gait & balance assessments (with Orthotists) wheelchair & seating assessments (with OTs) individual client sessions hydrotherapy and community visits. This will include education for clients carers and other health professionals about polio related health care. Continuous improvement is an integral part of our service and you will be supported to be involved in projects as well as have opportunity to develop research skills.

Duties

  • Provide appropriate timely clinical best practice in management of people with polio related health issues
  • Work collaboratively with the Polio Services team to provide ongoing education and advice to clients and health professionals in regards to the physiotherapy management of people with a history of contracting polio
  • Participate and contribute in multidisciplinary goal setting care planning and discharge planning as appropriate
  • Attend Polio Services Victoria clinics - metropolitan and periodic regional clinics
  • Actively participate in/contribute to/develop relevant Polio Services quality or clinical research projects
  • Provide instruction and teaching for other health professionals and physiotherapy students as to best practice methods in physiotherapy management of polio related health issues


Your Contribution

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent

  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Eligibility for Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) membership

  • Current Victorian Drivers License

  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain

Polio Services Victoria is part of the Disability and Pain Stream based at St Vincents Fitzroy. The service offers a supportive and dynamic team environment which focuses on client-centred care.
