ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our Chicago team to lead and support the implementation of industrial safety programs across Wind Solar and BESS operations in North America. This role ensures compliance with OSHA Canadian MOL and ISO 45001 standards promoting a proactive safety culture in both construction and operational environments.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develop implement and maintain health and safety policies aligned with industry standards.
Lead and participate in working-at-heights and confined space rescue drills to ensure operational safety.
Draft safety policies procedures and forms to ensure regulatory compliance and intuitive use.
Deliver safety training programs such as OSHA 10-Hour LOTO confined space rescue and electrical safety traveling to sites for instruction.
Conduct investigations of incidents and near misses performing Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Represent ACCIONA Energy USA Global with external organizations and regulatory bodies.
Assess reports and regulatory data to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Conduct audits of North American sites to determine compliance with internal and external safety regulations.
Required Skills and Competencies
About You
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in a safety position including 2 years in high-voltage environments.
OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including training and report presentation.
Physically capable of working in challenging outdoor environments and at heights up to 120 meters (fit-to-climb medical exam required).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
Valid drivers license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
Willingness to travel 2550% including occasional emergency response travel.
Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian HSE regulations with experience in wind turbine construction or O&M preferred
