Job Summary

An independent voluntary hospital Marymount works closely with the statutory health services and is a Section 38 Organisation under the Health Act 2004 and a registered charity. It is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and staffed by Dr Sarah McCloskey Chief Executive Officer and a multi-disciplinary team who provide clinical and care services education and research.

Its services comprise a 44-bed in-patient unit an out-patient department community-based services and bereavement & family support services. For older people Marymount Hospital provides 66 long-term care beds respite and palliative care support services. Both services have a reputation for excellence in care. Amidst the development to date of Marymount what has remained constant is the immeasurable work done by the staff to care for people with a life-limiting illness and for older people as well as advancing care practice through education and research.

The Post

We are currently inviting applications for a 2-year fixed term 0.5 WTE Locum Consultant in Palliative Medicine. The salary will be in accordance with national public sector pay agreements.

NB: Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council required.
