The College of Arts & Media is the only college leveraging the influence of CU Denver in the heart of Denvers thriving arts industry to produce graduates who are ready to inspire lead and create. CAM offers top-ranked degrees and programs in Film & Television Media Forensics Music & Entertainment and Visual Arts.
This position is responsible for supporting the successful continuous operation of the colleges information systems and technology. The IT Professional will maintain instructional computing labs as well as provide technological support to students faculty and staff in the College of Arts & Media.
IT Professional
What you will do:
Help Desk (50%)
Answer phone calls and emails for the CAM IT Help Desk.
Respond quickly to classroom technology emergencies and faculty and staff work stoppages.
Provide primary troubleshooting support for faculty and staff desktops printing VPN and similar issues.
Setup telepresence solutions and support conference Zoom Rooms for faculty and staff meetings.
Setup telepresence solutions for faculty to facilitate hybrid learning.
Execute the disposal and recycling of obsolete IT hardware and peripheral equipment.
Provide support for CAMs faculty computer replacement program and student computer lab replacement and rotation program.
Assist with building out CAM IT knowledge base; documenting and updating internal processes and procedures.
macOS Instructional Labs (30%)
Provide technical support in instructional computing labs for student computers teacher stations and audio-visual systems.
Upgrade hardware reimage computers deploy software update drivers and manage licenses for macOS computer labs.
Assist as needed with Jamf management and Mac software package development and deployment.
Clean and maintain computer labs
Windows Instructional Labs (10%)
Maintain National Center for Media Forensics (NCMF) classroom and research lab computers and related hardware and software.
Maintain NCMF remote-access computing and IT network.
Maintain NCMF servers which are accessed by students and faculty for curricular material and projects.
Maintain workstations used for instruction and graduate student projects.
Administrative (10%)
Assist with IT Program Director with purchasing receiving and inventory management for all hardware software and associated warranties and licenses.
Oversee distribution list and shared inbox memberships.
Provide access to department network shares.
Conduct product research as needed and provide recommendations to the IT Program Director.
Serve as backup for IT Program Director on CAM and University committees as needed.
Monitor and evaluate current trends in technology related to desktop and laptop support.
Perform other related work as assigned or required by the nature and scope of the position.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
A bachelors degree in computer science management/computer information systems computer engineering information technology or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
One (1) year of related professional experience in System Administration.
Software Installation Troubleshooting Customer Service or Technical Support.
Substitution: Related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Two (2) years of related professional experience in System Administration Software Installation Troubleshooting Customer Service Technical Support.
Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory
Experience or familiarity with JAMF
Experience or familiarity with Remote Desktop Support

Conditions of Employment
Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.
This position requires an onsite presence on campus 5 days a week.
Mental Physical and/or Environmental Requirements
The ability to sit for extended periods stand and walk occasionally reach with hands and arms use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse and have good near vision for computer work;often requiring minimal lifting but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.
Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $ $66600 - $68835.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
