The Faculty of Practice is a full-time non-tenure track (NTT) faculty member with practical experience in industry business medicine government law and/or other professional fields. The primary purpose of such a position is to share real-world knowledge with students in a classroom or experiential setting in support of degree certificate and/or licensure programs.
Duties will include but are not limited to
Conduct Concert Choir and Chamber Choir and other vocal ensembles as assigned.
Coordinate and direct all aspects of the choral music program including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Choral Literature Advanced Choral Conducting and Advanced Choral Techniques as determined by the needs of the choral program.
Collaborate with applied voice and music education faculty in the maintenance and development of curriculum to fulfill NASM standards for all vocal students in the School of Music.
Actively engage in recruiting and retention of quality undergraduate and graduate students on campus and across the state and region.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with public and private school choral programs and community choral organizations in the state and region.
Additional duties will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and the needs of the School of Music.

Required Qualifications:
Master of Music in Choral Conducting or a closely related field of study.
Two (2) years of choral conducting experience at the university or secondary level or commensurate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of outstanding professional experience as a choral conductor and educator.
Evidence of competency in vocal pedagogy keyboard skills and musicianship to support students vocal and musical development.
Evidence of successful recruiting and retention of undergraduate and graduate students.
Evidence of collaboration and collegiality within a faculty environment.
Evidence of successful work with public and/or private school choral programs and a positive rapport with the music community.
Evidence of professional development through involvement in professional conferences including state and/or national music education associations.
