What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
This role is for a mid-senior public accounting professional with developed leadership skills for small to medium teams who is looking for career growth requiring critical judgment and capacity to advise on significant accounting matters as well as demonstrated business acumen working for a multinational company operating under USGAAP and IFRS guidance to join our South America regional finance team.
This person should serve as a resource to his/her team on technical guidance to manage processes and procedures while independently driving operational efficiency through robust financial and accounting management.
Is expected for this Senior Accounting Supervisor to possess advanced understanding of financial statements ensuring impact awareness on overall results and identifying opportunities to improve financial metrics via cost reduction or profit-enhancing strategic changes.
This professional should work autonomously in fast-paced environments effectively prioritizing problem-solving and completing ambiguous assignments focusing on continuous improvement to deliver efficient high-quality corporate and statutory reporting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Our Senior Accounting Supervisor should work independently on driving team results and performance aligned with leadership strategy and company policies under general management guidance.
This position should impact our organization by demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration across finance and operations to achieve results and being able to develop innovative solutions to business problems through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- People Management and Communication
- Supervise and support a regional team (4 individual contributors)
- Set direction and clear goals for the team
- Provide candid and timely feedback to the team
- Have professional development discussions with the team
- Facilitate communication between business areas shared service centers and finance teams
- Review and approve reports and activities performed by the team:
- Ensure timely and accurate month end closing activities in compliance accounting standards
- Partnership with GBS Mexico sites Managers and below looking to improve quality and regional standardization.
- Review the EBIT bridges and analyze variations related to productive material inventories.
- Evaluate contribution margin fluctuations and coordinate with finance teams.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to resolve accounting issues.
- Support ICFR/SOX testings findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Validate Product Line Profitability results and compare them with monthly accounting results.
- Balance Sheet Variance Analysis
- Monthly & Quarterly reporting requests review and approval.
- Ensure functional and processes alignment with Accounting Policies for design sourcing manufacturing logistics and payments operations.
- Statutory Audit Reports
- Facilitate the communication between GM teams with EY.
- Support EY on its information requests.
- Focal point and owner for its areas of responsibility with statutory financials and audits related matters.
- Coordinate with Intercompany team to clear all imbalances during the closing
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree completed in Accounting
- Advanced or Fluent English
- Leadership experience
- Proven accounting or financial analysis experience
- Active CRC
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preference Qualifications):
- SAP 4Hana experience
- Spanish
- MBA is a plus
