Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 Years (Possibility of Extension)
Location: Waterloo IA 50613
Shift: 1st Shift 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Position Overview

The Supply Management Planner I supports day-to-day supplier communication and material scheduling for purchased components. This role focuses on maintaining optimal inventory levels ensuring timely material replenishment and supporting the logistics and procurement processes. The position contributes to operational excellence within the supply chain and supports senior supply management specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with suppliers regarding schedules order releases and material requirements.
  • Plan and schedule purchased materials to maintain economic order quantities and optimal inventory levels.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage procurement activities through SAP (experience preferred).
  • Ensure on-time supplier deliveries; resolve schedule or material issues promptly.
  • Execute planning activities within defined supply chain frameworks for low-complexity materials.
  • Perform inventory control checks-verifying quantities quality and availability.
  • Gather and analyze cost drivers market dynamics and supplier data to support decision-making.
  • Participate in process improvement reviews within the supply management function.
  • Support stakeholder engagement by coordinating actions meetings and reports.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and tracking using Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.

  • Data Collection & Analysis Gathers and interprets supplier and market data.
  • Procurement Process Management Understanding of sourcing and order management principles.
  • Communication Strong verbal and written interaction with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Reporting & Assessment Prepares routine reports and assists in supplier performance reviews.
  • Costing & Budget Awareness Understands pricing dynamics and financial implications of sourcing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain or related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Basic experience with office or operational systems (4 6 months).
  • Exposure to procurement planning or inventory control preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word).
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Must adhere to business casual dress code.
  • No driving no visa sponsorship and no cross-border work permitted.

Additional Notes

  • Performance Evaluations: Conducted at 30 days 90 days and annually.
  • Worker will be compensated for up to 2 hours on Day 1 to complete company-specific onboarding paperwork.
  • No comp time all hours worked must be paid.
  • This position follows a standard on-site schedule; telework across borders is not permitted.
