JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION:HeadCustodian - Kennett Middle School
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate initiative and able to work without close supervision
- Possess the ability to make minor repairs to equipment and building
- Manage time so that scheduled work and duties are completed daily
- Work collaboratively with others
- Demonstrate flexibility with work schedule as needed
REPORTS TO: Principal of the Building to which he/she is assigned
JOB GOAL: To provide students and teachers with a safe clean and attractive environment in which to learn
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dry mop or vacuum all floors spot mop and spray buff as needed
- Clean bathrooms (sanitize sinks ensure toilets etc. be spotless)
- Fill dispensers as needed
- All marks on floors and walls shall be removed
- Clean and polish all drinking fountains
- Empty all wastebaskets dispose of trash
- Clean and dust all surfaces
- Keep all windows doors and walls clean
- Shut off lights and secure the building
- Keep custodial area clean and neat
- Leave a note for the Building Principal or designee regarding work that is not complete
- Make minor repairs as he/she is capable; Notify Building Principal or designee of all needed repairs
- Be available on call when needed
- Follow District policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required and/or directed
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) contract
WORK YEAR:260 days / year round position
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the AFSCME contract. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
