Triband is the award-winning studio behind the WHAT THE comedy game series which is played by millions worldwide. From our home in central Copenhagen more than 50 wonderful humans are united by a simple mission: to make everyone laugh.
As a Gameplay Animator at Triband youll be responsible for the animation pipelines across our entire game portfolio and help us be more efficient in bringing our game worlds and the characters in them to life.
Okay lets get more specific. Heres what youll do on a day-to-day
- By creating well-timed and quirky animations youll help shape the moment-to-moment game feel and highlight comedy moments.
- Youll own the animation pipeline across all games in Unity (from gameplay animation to implementation).
- Youll be responsible for implementing and applying a pragmatic approach towards animation meaning that you can balance approaches depending on the overall in-game impact (deciding where to use animation libraries where to go quick and dirty and where to invest time in hand-animating).
Requirements
- You have extensive experience with 3D animation both in and outside of Unity.
- Youre very familiar with implementing animation controllers in Unity.
- You can create and animate blend shapes.
- You have rigging experience and know how to bring even silly objects like dancing trees or entitled burgers to life.
Nice-to-haves
- You always prioritize player experiences in everything you create.
- Youve worked with physics-based animation before.
- You have experience with Blender (but any tool will work).
- You have a feel for visual storytelling and an interest in animating small comedic moments and cinematics.
- You know how to make animations feel heavy and lively and break the rig to create something more interesting.

WHAT THE TRIBAND
We make people laugh! To do so we focus on exploring comedy through gameplay. We like to break player expectations use wonderful music slick art and create a quirky atmosphere. We experiment a lot and it doesnt always work out but we always learn something.
We are currently 50 people of 10 different nationalities. We put people first and strive to create a safe and creative working environment.
