Job Summary

Position Title:MS RSB Teacher
Division: Middle School
Supervisor:Division Principal/Assistant Principal
Position Summary:
The Reflective Spiritual Beings (RSB) teacher will have the primary responsibility of teaching RSB courses within Concordias middle school. Teacherwill guide middle school students in developing self-awareness empathy respect for others and an understanding of spiritual and ethical values that support personal growth and community well-being. The teacher will create a safe inclusive classroom environment that encourages reflection dialogue and action aligned with the schools mission and focuses on the development of spiritual thought and spiritual addition the RSB teacher will support the Director of Spiritual Life & Identity in the presenting of assemblies and creation of events that promote the spiritual care of both students and faculty.
In order to meet Concordia student learning results (SLOs) and grade level expectations the teacher carries out the following broad and specific responsibilities across the following domains: Planning and Preparation Classroom Management Instruction and Professional Responsibilities.
Concordia seeks educators who are familiar with and embrace MTSS and UDL designing lessons that meet diverse learning needs and provide equitable opportunities for every student.
Requirements:
Education
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant subject area.
  • A certification in education.
  • Advanced degree or specialization training that supports the teaching role preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years successful teaching in a school setting.
  • Teaching in the subject area and with the age of students assigned.
  • Working successfully with an ethnically diverse population.
  • Working with students with learning differences.
  • Working with students who are English Language Learners (ELL).
  • Working in an international school setting and familiarity with the American educational system preferred.
  • Creating units of work using Universal by Design (UbD) strategies preferred.
Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the developmental needs and milestones of students in the age group you are teaching.
  • Knowledgeable about:
  • Developing appropriate practices
  • Using a variety of formative assessments progress monitoring tools and differentiated learning strategies
  • The content and pedagogy
  • Effective communicator communicates well with a diverse community of parents staff and leaders; proficient writing skills.
  • Highly skillful at using and integrating technology.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Additional employment expectations:
  • Collaborate with Learning Support and/or ELL teachers in working with or monitoring children and managing clerical tasks.
  • Undertake additional duties that may reasonably be assigned or requested by the Supervisor such as leading student trips serving as chaperon roles as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
