Are you an experienced Senior Regulatory Lawyer looking for a challenging and rewarding role providing strategic legal advice across complex and dynamic industries
We have an exceptional permanent opportunity for a commercially astute senior lawyer to join our General Counsel - Regulatory Brand & Customer Experience team. This role is crucial in supporting our diverse group of businesses including Dan Murphys BWS ALH Hotels Pinnacle Drinks and various corporate functions.
This role offers a superb platform to leverage your specialist legal and business partnering skills and commercial acumen to provide both strategic and day-to-day advice and support across a range of vital regulatory matters.
You will primarily focus on AML/CTF liquor gaming and tobacco regulatory requirements across Victoria South Australia Western Australia and Tasmania with scope for other jurisdictions as business needs dictate.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
- Provide expert advice on the application of relevant laws and regulations within retail liquor hospitality and gaming environments.
- Manage compliance enforcement matters investigations and resolution strategies representing the organisation where necessary.
- Develop a trusted legal advisor status with key stakeholders (including gaming compliance operations and licensing teams) to ensure cohesive legal strategies and offer practical solutions to complex regulatory challenges.
- Drive effective regulator relationship management with key regulatory bodies.
- Engage in people management acting as the line manager for at least one direct report.
Qualifications :

- Degree in Law and Current Legal Practising Certificate
- Minimum 8 years Post-Admission Experience
- Strong expertise in regulatory advice and/or compliance/enforcement experience
- Experience in any of liquor gaming and compliance and enforcement work
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- Prior experience in a liquor or gaming business (highly regarded)
- Top tier firm experience (highly regarded)
- In-house legal experience in a large complex organisation preferably within the liquor gaming or entertainment sectors (highly regarded)
