Job Summary

  • Location: Based at our Ipswich office on the lands of the Yuggera/Yagara People
  • Salary: $38.83 - $42.40ph (depending on experience) 12% Super Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18550

About the Program
The Lived Experience Activity Program (LEAP) empowers people with lived experience of mental health challenges to support others on their recovery journey. Our team uses group-based approaches peer support and community outreach to foster hope confidence and meaningful connections.

Your Role Your Impact
As a Peer Support Worker / Group Facilitator you will use your lived experience of mental health recovery to instil hope and confidence in others. Youll play a vital role in helping participants live meaningful self-directed lives supporting them through group activities individual planning and ongoing engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your lived experience to engage participants and build their self-management and peer relationships.
  • Facilitate peer-led groups that foster hope connection and recovery.
  • Collaborate with participants carers and providers to co-develop and review Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs).
  • Create safe and inclusive environments for group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor participant attendance and follow up to support ongoing engagement.
  • Support community outreach and awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to program evaluation.
  • Respond to crisis situations in line with Eachs risk policy.
  • Participate in supervision team meetings and ongoing professional development.

Who Were Looking For

  • Lived experience of mental illness and personal recovery.
  • Experience facilitating groups and supporting families impacted by mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Skilled in MS Office and electronic client record systems.
  • Adaptable solution-focused and open to feedback.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed strengths-based and recovery-oriented practice.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)
  • Intentional Peer Support Core Training Certificate
  • Current drivers licence (Probationary or Open)
