Job Summary

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet and prepare patients for dermatological examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient medical histories vital signs and chief complaints.
  • Assist dermatologists with a variety of clinical procedures including but not limited to skin exams biopsies excisions cryotherapy and cosmetic treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
  • Perform wound care suture removal and dressing changes as directed.
  • Educate patients on post-procedure care and general dermatological health.
  • Manage patient records and handle prior authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Support front desk operations as needed including answering phones and verifying insurance.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA RMA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dermatology or medical office setting preferred.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems (e.g. EMA Epic or similar).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and staff.

Schedule:

Full-time: Monday Thursday 7:50am-5pm Fridays 7:50am-12pm
