Job Summary
The Public Schools of Brookline are seeking qualified candidates to lead weekly English conversation groups for parents/guardians of English learners in Brookline.
EFP (English for Parents) is open to any parents/guardians of English learners in the district. These groups offer an opportunity for participants to practice English and discuss school-related topics with a trained addition participants have the opportunity to connect with other international parents/guardians and share their experiences. Participants will also practice language and discuss cultural norms related to advocacy for their children at school.
Duties include: creating and executing lesson plans to teach non-native speakers English and help them learn idioms basic grammar rules pronunciation and general conversational skills. Cultural adaptation issues will be addressed as well.
There will be three classes offered:
- beginner
- intermediate
- advanced
Class schedules will be mutually agreed uponbetween the intructor and the ELE Director. Classes will be scheduled for three multi-week sessions between November 2025 and June 2026. Instructors are paid up to 200 hours including prep and instructional time.
